Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body. It is extracted and reformulated to provide structural filling in areas of the face that are aging.
When this gel is injected, it acts like an inflated cushion to support facial structures and tissues that may have lost volume or elasticity due to normal aging. It also brings water to the surface of skin to keep it looking fresh and supple.
The two most popular products are Juvederm and Voluma which we use most commonly here at Augusta Plastic Surgery. We have found they provide long lasting results and minimal if any internal scarring or tissue reaction seen in other fillers.

What is a liquid face lift?
A liquid face lift is a nonsurgical method to rejuvenate the face. Dr. Ewart performs this procedure by combining Botox, Juvederm, and Voluma. Botox is used to rejuvenate the forehead, frown lines and crows feet. Juvederm is used to fill the nasolabial folds and marionette areas and Voluma is used to lift and fill flattened cheeks. For more information about these procedures goto our Botox and Filler Page.

How is Botox charged..... by area or by unit?
I believe that the best way to charge for Botox is by the unit which can range from $9-15 per unit depending on the city and area of the country you live in. In 2016 the prices are typically several dollars higher per unit compared to 2010.
When Botox is being charged by the unit or each area is customized per patient, then you know that the Botox provider is probably taking the time to analyze how much Botox you will need for your situation. You may prefer a more natural look with some movement and just softening of the lines or you may prefer complete erasing of the lines with no movement. In addition, everyone have different amounts of lines, muscle strength and sensitivity to Botox.
All this should be taken into consideration before your injection and the results will sometimes require changes to the amount of Botox on your next visit.
