Our Vision for Abdominoplasty

Our goal is to provide superior results while not compromising on patient safety, comfort and experience. While we cannot guarantee that every patient will have the perfect experience, we strive to make that happen. Contouring the waist with liposuction and using injectable numbing agents to minimize pain, are just some of the ways we strive to improve your experience and results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Abdominoplasty: How’s it Done?

  1. Remove excess fat and skin — As much loose skin and fat from the belly button to the pubic area is removed and replaced with the skin from above the belly button
  2. Tighten the muscles — If the abdominal muscles are separated from their normal position, they with be re-tightened to increase strength and flatten the abdominal wall.
  3. Liposuction — To complete the procedure, we remove excess fat along the waist and hips and upper abdomen to streamline the results.

Do I need a mini-tuck or full tummy tuck? Just liposuction?

  1. Liposuction Only — For those patients with excess fat and minimal to no excess skin or muscle separation.
  2. Mini-tuck or Limited incision — For those patients who have a little bit of loose skin and muscle separation which is caused by childbirth; liposuction can also be added at the same time as of the procedure.
  3. Full Tummy Tuck — For those patients who have a moderate to severe amount of excess skin and fat above and below the belly button. Can also incorporate liposuction to this procedure as well.

What is rectus diastasis?

Rectus diastasis is a partial or complete separation of the midline fascia of the abdominal wall between the rectus muscles. This occurs as a result of abdominal expansion usually seen after pregnancy or with massive weight gain.

The symptoms are less core strength, an increased abdominal bulge or pooch, and separation in the midline of the abdomen.

Rectus diastasis can be corrected with plication (sewing) the abdominal wall back together which is usually performed during a tummy tuck.
