Breast Augmentation, Augusta, GA
Enhancing your figure
Breast enlargement, breast implants or augmentation mammoplasty, as its known in plastic surgery, is a procedure to enhance the size and shape of a womans breast. Women choose breast enlargement and breast implants for a number of reasons:
What does breast enhancement at Augusta Plastic Surgery involve?
The purpose of breast implants is to increase a womans breast volume and shape. This breast implant surgery involves thel insertion of a saline or silicone implant behind each breast, usually, in part at least, behind the chest muscle .
There are a few different methods that can be used to insert and position your implant. The incision can be made either in the crease where the breast meets the chest, around the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple) or at the belly button. You and your surgeon will decide which method is right for you, based on your anatomy and goals for augmentation. Dr. Ewart, Dr. Smith, and Dr. Lynn will do their best to ensure that your scars are as inconspicuous as possible.
Breast enhancement surgery usually lasts one to two hours. It is performed as an outpatient procedure.
What should I expect after breast enlargement?
Youll probably feel tired and sore for a few days after surgery, but youll be up and around the day of surgery. You should be able to return to work within a few days, if your job isnt too strenuous. We will have you wear a sports bra for several weeks to allow the swelling to resolve and allow everything to heal properly.
The implants will often appear high immediately after surgery (especially when place below the muscle) but will gradually settle over the next couple weeks and months with time and massage.
Now that you know something about the surgery, please come in for a consultation so that we can discuss the procedure in more detail, perform an examination, have you feel the different types of implants available and actually be fitted with different sizes to see what you might look like with beast implants.
